First trip to Malaysia

Part II: Malaysia

If I'm totally honest I can't remember a huge amount about my first trip to Malaysia. Unfortunately the problem with going on little jaunts with like-minded (read: equally poor) individuals is that you have to take the bus, rather than fly, and after a brief visit to Melacca (spent mostly in Chinatown) I believe that our bus pulled into Kuala Lumpure at about 2am, dumping us in a bewilderingly unhelpful bus station to fend for ourselves.

The next few days were pretty unremarkable and we simply plodded along the tourist trail - Batu caves, Petronas Towers and an awfully long time in KL Chinatown. It would have been better to go around the city with a local, or even alone, rather than a big group.

Probably my favourite part was when one of the American girls asked the taxi driver "How do we get into the market?" and he didn't understand. Her rephrased version for the question was "How do we gain entry to the market?".  Nice.
